Lacuna · Baobab — public architecture and design notes.
What an honest, people-owned currency on our rails could be — and the principle under it.

Pitch — Baobab v0
v0 · 2026-05-11 · ~26 pages · internal draft
The framing document for Baobab v0 — a pan-diaspora platform for
news, markets, and community. Walks through what is being built
and why, which markets and exchanges, the three-layer
architecture, the blockchain choice and rationale, the money
(simple and detailed), the private-beta feature set, the worker
pattern, and the founders' bios. Print-styled for clean PDF
export; the screen view adds a sidebar table of contents with
scroll-spy.

Use-Case 1 — News-Class Retrieval at the Edge
v0.1-draft · 2026-05-12 · ~30 pages
The SRE-grade view of baobab-worker-rs: a Rust worker
compiled to Cloudflare Workers (WASM) and Fly native, running
capability-gated Scheme plans emitted by the Lacuna brain. Covers
the worker shape, the plan-as-contract argument, tool registry,
Cloudflare and Fly deployments, Firecrawl composition, where Loam
fits, security model, SLOs/SLIs, capacity, incident response, and
a 12-week roadmap to GA.
Experimental ways of looking at Baobab's data planes — prototypes and
design drafts that may graduate into the main app.

Article-graph — drifting, elastic places-mention-places
v0.1-prototype · 2026-05-12 · interactive
Live prototype of the V0.2 graph view from the article-reader
handoff. Nodes are places; edges are "X mentioned by Y" mined
from the current /api/news feed. Three modes: Constellation
(drifting, force-directed, elastic links you can stretch by
dragging), Map (geographic anchoring by lat/lon), and
Time (places arrayed by first mention). Left rail holds
the mode picker, a Fit button, and a vertical zoom slider. Every
mode change resets to fit.

Wallet-graph — your address, your money, your people
v0.1-prototype · 2026-05-22 · interactive · sample data
The self-custody wallet drawn in Baobab's own visual language. The
center node is you; token holdings (USDC, POL) and the people you
transact with orbit as glowing spheres; edges are money flows —
thickness by volume, animated in the direction the value moved.
Three modes mirror article-graph: Constellation
(force-directed, your economic web), Map (counterparties
anchored by country — the diaspora money map), and Time
(activity scrubbed across the last 30 days). A recent-activity
ledger keeps the precise "what just happened" alongside the
picture. Backed by sample data here; in the app it reads from
/api/chain/txns and /api/rpc/polygon.

Markets constellation — commodities, exchanges, correlations
design draft · not yet built
Sibling to article-graph applied to the markets plane. Nodes are
commodities (cocoa, copper, sorghum, oil) and the exchanges they
trade on; edges are rolling-window price correlation strength,
plus supply-chain links mined from the news feed. Three modes
mirror article-graph: Constellation (force-directed,
elastic, weights = correlation), Map (anchored by primary
exchange location), and Time (commodities arrayed by
30-day volatility). A slider scrubs the correlation window from
7 days to a year; a sector filter slices the graph by agricultural
/ metals / energy.

Voices web — bylines, sources, named people
design draft · not yet built
Graph view of the people behind and inside the news. Nodes are
bylines, named sources, and political figures pulled from the
article-reader's named-entity pass; edges are co-occurrence in
the same article or thread, weighted by frequency. Three modes:
Constellation (relationship clusters), Map
(anchored by each person's primary affiliation country), and
Time (first-mention arrival across the feed). Useful for
spotting which sources cluster around which beats, and which
voices are missing from a region's coverage.
